Trained under acclaimed national and international Artists, I work in oils, pastels and colored pencils. Currently, I am studying under national portrait artist, Deborah Ankrom-Kepes, from Georgia.
Animals are a favorite of mine, and when working on a portrait of one, I try to capture its personality. I have had many requests to paint someone’s beloved pet that has passed away so that they will have something to remember them by.
The painting “I’ll Always Remember” was created in memory of my father-in-law, who served in the army during WW ll. The items used in the painting hold special meaning for me, as they belonged to “Pap.” The letter, in the painting, was from his sweetheart, who later became his wife and my mother-in-law.
This is the first in my series of military paintings to remember and honor those who have served or are serving our country.
My next painting in the series, titled “Homecoming,” is for the Marines.
